Astronomical Dome  This project will be on offer for all to use. A purpose built building housing a large telescope for viewing the constellations, planets and the other astronomical events which often can be witnessed. Other equipment will be available at the observatory some for the study of sunspot activity. The telescope will be motorised for the taking of photographs and a monitor will be fixed for those wishing to view the constellations from indoors. The lunar surface will also be studied and also the solar and lunar eclipse. Many evenings will be arranged for viewing with refreshments laid on, this feature of the haven similar to the Environmental Centre will prove to be popular. This observatory will be positioned in a part of the haven well away from light pollution.
