About the Charity
Noah's Ark Trust is a charity which was founded in 1998 to provide grief support
to bereaved children and young people in Herefordshire & Worcestershire.
Until that time, there had been no such
support available to families in the County.
In the past referrals come to us from Schools, GPs, Health Visitors,
Youth Officers, and other professionals directly involved with children within the County. Families may also contact us direct.
Feedback we have received leads
us to believe that what we have achieved, in our first ten years of operation, has been entirely successful and we are
very enthusiastic for the future. We are now working towards making our service available to bereaved children and young people
in Herefordshire in the near future.
All our services are provided to families in Herefordshire & Worcestershire free of charge. However, the
support of the community is vital to enable us to continue to do so.
We benefit from the financial support of Children in Need, Comic Relief, the Big
Lottery Fund, and others including Herefordshire & Worcestershire County Council.
Each residential weekend is costing us in the region of £6,000
to run, and we are currently running three such weekends per year. Wages are kept to an absolute minimum and we are fortunate
to have the services of over 100 Volunteers who have all completed the Noah's Ark in-house Training Programme.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information about our service. If you would like to make a referral, or to seek advice, you are very welcome to ring
us. Equally, we welcome calls from those who can help with fundraising, or would like to become a volunteer.
